Cyclades 2024 & 2025
“The Cyclades are almost magical for me – especially when the sunset bathes them in a wonderfully warm play of colours. Then the last rays of sunlight cover the chalk-white façades of the island houses with yellow, red and purple. My highlight at this time of day is a walk along one of the fine beaches on one of the islands.
I am also fascinated by the wild nature of the Cyclades. The towns and villages gleam bright white against the green and the numerous earth colours from terracotta to almost black on the volcanic archipelago of Santorini. When I stand there by the volcano, I am no longer surprised that the sunken Atlantis has already been searched for here.”

Cyclades Culture and relaxation
Start your tour of the Cyclades from Athens – the city that, according to myth, the gods fought over. In addition to the Acropolis with its ancient and well-preserved buildings such as the Parthenon and other temples, the Agora and the Dionysus Theatre, you should also visit the Museum of Cycladic Art.
It is a wonderful preparation for what awaits you on the islands. Numerous archaeological finds shed light on the culture and everyday life of the Cycladic culture. Finely crafted marble statuettes and richly decorated vessels show just how skilled the people of this time were. You can find out more about the early Greek Cycladic culture in the Archaeological Museums on Paros and Naxos. Remains of temples, churches – such as the Katapoliani on Paros – chapels and monasteries are also scattered across the Cyclades islands and are well worth a visit. Temple ruins and tomb complexes can also be found on the volcanic island of Santorini. Its bay is a crater, on the edge of which there are places such as Fira and Oia, which guarantee marvellous views.
Experience nature on the Cyclades
Of course, the islands of the Cyclades are home to dreamy beaches that invite you to swim and relax. But there is also marvellous nature to discover, including steep cliffs and bizarre rock formations, numerous bays, caves such as the Emerald Cave and the water pools on Paros.
It is also worth taking a closer look, as the Cyclades are characterised by a species-rich fauna. Some species of reptiles, dolphins and seals can only be found here.
Cyclades - culinary delights
The sun-kissed Cyclades produce a wealth of fruit and vegetables, as well as excellent wines. Each island has its own character. Try the tasty psevdokeftedes on Santorini, tomato balls or cherry peas. On Naxos, enjoy the island’s cheese specialities or beef and goat meat with local vegetables, while on Paros you can expect typical maritime cuisine.
After such a sumptuous meal, an ouzo or perhaps a kitro on Naxos or a souma on Paros is just the thing. Do you like sweets? Then you should try koufeto, almonds glazed with honey, or melitinia, a pastry with mizithra cheese and honey. Your trip to the Cyclades will also be an unforgettable culinary experience.
Special experiences on the Cyclades
On our Cyclades round trips, you can of course also book guided tours through the most famous cities and culturally significant sites. But we also want you to get to know and understand the country and its people better. For this reason, we have selected experiences that provide a glimpse behind the scenes.
Culinary experiences and tastings are also well suited for this, as they give you an insight into the specialities of the gastronomy of the Cycladic islands.
Get to know villages with the typical whitewashed houses and blue doors and window frames on our excursions or visit the volcanic islands of Nea and Palea Kameni and learn all about the caldera and the volcano.
