Sardinia 2024 & 2025
When I think of the sunny island of Sardinia, a crystal-clear sea appears in my mind’s eye, framed by rugged rocks, interrupted by fine sandy beaches. Here you can simply relax wonderfully after your excursions into the rugged island nature. In many places in Sardinia, you are far away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Incidentally, it’s not just the island’s uniquely beautiful face that ensures this. When I’m in Sardinia, I also enjoy following in the footsteps of its former inhabitants and discovering the heritage of Romans, Phoenicians and other peoples in the places I visit today. No matter where you stop on the island, you are always surrounded by a touch of history. In my opinion, this is a marvellous feeling that you should treat yourself to.
Of course, your Sardinia round trip can also start right on your doorstep. When travelling by your own car, we also plan and organise the route and accommodation for your individual trip through the transit countries according to your wishes.

Cultural Sardinia
Sardinia’s charm lies, among other things, in its rich history, which is presented to you in the small area of the island. During your tour of Sardinia, you can travel through several millennia in just a few kilometres. Today you can stroll through Olbia, a city of the Romans and Punic. Tomorrow you will find yourself in the Middle Ages at the village fortress of Castelsardo or in the baroque old town of Orosei. The Oratorio del Rosaria and the Sas Animas chapel from the 18th century are particularly worth seeing in this old town. Even if there is little reliable information about the mysterious Nuragic culture, the remains of its buildings – the giants’ tombs, stone towers, water sanctuaries and bronze figures – can be found all over Sardinia and are well worth exploring.
However, the special culture of Sardinia can also be experienced wonderfully on a stroll through the colourful alleyways and the fashionable harbour of Cagliari. End the day in the lively island capital on the spacious terrace of the Bastione Saint Remy, from where you can watch the sun set over the glittering sea.
Experience nature on your tour of Sardinia
One thing is guaranteed on your tour of Sardinia with 2,000 kilometres of coastline from north to south: white sand and shimmering turquoise water. Kilometres of gently sloping beaches and small, hidden bays alternate with bizarre rock formations and stalactite caves. The nature reserves Capo Carbonara in the south and La Maddalena in the north of the island, with their rich flora and fauna, are particularly worthwhile excursion destinations and are ideal not only for swimming but also for extensive coastal hikes.
You will also experience just how diverse Sardinia is when you explore the island’s interior. From Gennargentu, the “roof” of Sardinia, where the peaks reach over 1,800 metres high, to the gentle hills of the national parks in the west of the island, such as Monte Arci or the Sinis Peninsula, Sardinia offers the right place for every nature adventure.
Culinary specialities of Sardinia
Sardinia is a culinary paradise through and through and will surprise you. Various types of cheese made from sheep’s and goat’s milk or the famous Cannonau red wine, which is even considered a real elixir of life, can be tasted, especially at small producers and farms in the unspoilt region of Ogliastra in the east of the island. The Culurgiones also come from this corner of Sardinia. These cheese and potato-filled dumplings can be found on the menus of small trattorias. Watch the hosts as they make them in the traditional way or try your hand at preparing the hearty speciality yourself on a cooking course, which is usually served with a fruity tomato sauce or sage butter.
The north of the island also offers hearty food. The Gallura region, like all coastal regions of Sardinia, is known for its fresh fish dishes and seafood. But you will also be tempted by the Zuppa Gallurese, a type of lasagne consisting of slices of bread, cheese and a savoury lamb broth. What was once considered a “poor man’s dish” is now a speciality that no visitor to Sardinia should miss.
