When we include a hotel in our programme, it is not only a high standard of quality that is important to us. We prefer typical local accommodation, often boutique hotels with a special ambience. Boutique Hotels – Four categories
Encantador (“Charming”): Our most affordable option. Lovingly furnished rooms that offer everything the discerning traveller expects.
Especial (“Special”): Hotels with a special ambience – historic palaces, monasteries, haciendas or beach hotels with exceptional charm. Perfect for the classic cultural tour.
Extraordinario (“Extraordinary”): Luxurious hotels in excellent locations and with the highest level of comfort, often in centuries-old aristocratic palaces, old oil mills or haciendas.

Experience culture
In addition to Ragusa, Modica and Noto in particular boast wonderful Baroque architecture on this 15-day tour of Sicily. The baroque cathedral of Modica, San Giorgio, is a particular gem. It impresses with its opulently decorated, late baroque façade as well as the open staircase and the ornate inlaid floor inside.
As you stroll through the town, you will not only pass pretty baroque palazzi, but also a striking number of chocolate shops and confectioners. Follow the sweet temptation and find out why Modica is at least as famous for its chocolate as it is for its architecture.
Experience nature
The most fascinating natural spectacle on your 15-day tour of Sicily is without question Mount Etna. The mountain has left an unmistakable mark on the entire region. Green meadows and lush macchia forests grow in the valleys below. On the slopes, vines, citrus fruits and olive groves thrive on the fertile soil. Further up on the Fire Mountain, you finally arrive in an almost bizarre landscape, where steam bubbles up here and there from the seething depths through crevices in the rocks.
Back in this world, your hire car will take you to the very fertile plain near Catania. In addition to wine, olives and lemons, date palms and lots of vegetables such as aubergines, tomatoes and peppers grow in this garden of the island. In addition, the scent of jasmine and the delicate fragrance of wild orchids is wonderful in some places on your hike.
Sicily's culinary delights
The culinary history of Sicily is complex. The influence of numerous cultures can still be seen in the dishes today – the result of numerous foreign dominations. Pasta, olive oil, cheese, wine and confectionery are a natural part of the menu, as they are throughout Italy.
The traces of diverse traditions can still be felt everywhere here. For example, couscous, which originated with the Arabs, is served with fish. Almonds, honey, pine nuts and sultanas are not only used in confectionery, but also in pasta dishes. Rice, exotic spices, peppers and potatoes – products introduced from the New World – are also an integral part of Sicilian cuisine. Travelling through Sicily is therefore also a culinary journey through its history.
