When we include a hotel in our programme, it is not only a high standard of quality that is important to us. We prefer typical local accommodation, often boutique hotels with a special ambience. They emphasise the character of an individual trip: Panoramic views, particularly lovely furnishings, a location in historic centres, no mass tourism and, of course, exceptionally friendly hosts – these are important criteria for us.

We divide our hotels into four separate Geotoura categories. Of course, you have the choice and can also combine the categories on one trip.

Boutique Hotels – Four categories

Encantador (“Charming”): Our most affordable option. Lovingly furnished rooms that offer everything the discerning traveller expects.

Especial (“Special”): Hotels with a special ambience – historic palaces, monasteries, haciendas or beach hotels with exceptional charm. Perfect for the classic cultural tour.

Extraordinario (“Extraordinary”): Luxurious hotels in excellent locations and with the highest level of comfort, often in centuries-old aristocratic palaces, old oil mills or haciendas.

Luna de Miel (“honeymoon”): For the honeymoon – span. Luna de miel – or if you want to treat yourself to something out of the ordinary …

Experience culture

With Palermo, you are not just strolling through the island’s capital. You are also strolling through a city between Occident and Orient, between Norman and Baroque influences on the one hand and Byzantine and Arabic influences on the other.

On this 9-day round trip through Sicily, make time for Palermo’s old town centre, which beautifully reflects the island’s eventful history. When you reach Agrigento in your hire car, don’t turn off straight away to the Valley of the Temples. The city itself also has some very charming corners. These include the winding stairways that turn parts of the old town into a veritable labyrinth.

Experience nature

On Sicily, a special mountain is always rumbling: Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano. However, it is usually peaceful. So lace up your hiking boots and explore a landscape that begins in the lush macchia forests and in some places further up seems to be out of this world.

But what would a 9-day tour of Sicily be without the dream beaches on its coasts? Stretch out on the Lido di Cefalù, for example, or take a stroll through the shallow waters there. Or discover the beach at Marina di Ragusa, a real insider tip that is more popular with the locals.

Sicily's culinary delights

The culinary history of Sicily is complex. The influence of numerous cultures can still be seen in the dishes today – the result of numerous foreign dominations. Pasta, olive oil, cheese, wine and confectionery are a natural part of the menu, as they are throughout Italy.

The traces of diverse traditions can still be felt everywhere here. For example, couscous, which originated with the Arabs, is served with fish. Almonds, honey, pine nuts and sultanas are not only used in confectionery, but also in pasta dishes. Rice, exotic spices, peppers and potatoes – products introduced from the New World – are also an integral part of Sicilian cuisine. Travelling through Sicily is therefore also a culinary journey through its history.

The authentic Sicily

Sicily has many archaeological sites. One of the lesser-known ones is the archaeological park of Selinunte. With your local guide, you will explore the extensive temple complex and the ancient city walls while listening to stories from ancient times.
