forum anders reisen e. V. is a business and trade association for sustainable tourism for small and medium-sized tour operators. The association promotes gentle tourism based on sustainability, to which members have committed themselves by means of a comprehensive catalogue of criteria and which is monitored by the CSR process. CSR stands for Corporate Social Responsibility and refers to the contribution of companies to sustainable development. Environmentally and socially responsible travel is a priority for the members of forum anders reisen. The aim is to create tourism that is ecologically sustainable, economically feasible and ethically and socially just in the long term.

Atmosfair is a non-profit limited company based in Bonn, founded in May 2005, whose sole shareholder is the environment and development-orientated Stiftung Zukunftsfähigkeit. Atmosfair was founded in 2003 as a joint initiative of the tour operator association forum anders reisen and the environmental and development organisation Germanwatch. The motivation was clear: the increasing burden on the global climate caused by the rapid growth in air travel poses considerable challenges for society. In addition to the airlines and tour operators, individual passengers also have a responsibility. The idea behind atmosfair is to inform them and offer them a positive opportunity to take action. For example, by making a voluntary payment to atmosfair, you can help to offset the CO₂ emissions caused by flying by making savings elsewhere in the form of climate protection projects.

The German Travel Association (DRV) is the third largest travel industry association in the world. It promotes and protects the commercial, economic, professional and ethical interests of its members. The DRV is committed to protecting the environment and cultures. Admission as a full member is only possible if the management of the company has the necessary professional qualifications and reliability. In the case of tour operators, proof must be provided that the customer monies collected in advance have been properly secured. Together with the Verband Internet Reisevertrieb (VIR), the DRV has developed principles of behaviour for customer-friendly marketing on the Internet (Code of Conduct for Online Marketing). The Code of Conduct is to be understood as a voluntary commitment by the signatory companies to comply with minimum standards in online marketing and especially in search engine marketing. The DRV recommends that member companies that sell and advertise holidays on the Internet sign and apply the Code of Conduct. Geotoura is a member of the DRV and has signed the Code of Conduct.

The CSR seal is an award for sustainability and corporate responsibility in tourism. Together with tour operators, KATE e. V. (Contact Centre for Environment and Development), the Protestant Development Service (EED e. V.) and the UniEurope trade union federation, the ‘forum anders reisen’ association has developed a set of tools for preparing sustainability reports in order to effectively establish CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in tourism. The CSR seal is an expression of the fact that we fulfil our corporate and social responsibility above and beyond legal requirements. We actively contribute to sustainable economic, ecological and social development in tourism.
